Featured above is famous painting “The Creation of Adam,” which is part of his Sistine Chapel ceiling. This creation is considered by some to be his greatest artistic achievement. Commissioned by Pope Julius II, it was one of nine scenes from Genesis which Michelangelo (1475 – 1564) painted. Depicting the flash of life and love surging from God to Adam, it fluently replicates human anatomy and movement.
